چکیده

Absmucr-Direct sequence code division multiple access commun-kations is a promising approach to cellular mobile communications , whkh operates in an environment characterized by mul-tipath Rician fading. In this paper, the CDMA network is assumed to share common spectrum with a narrowband microwave user. Because of the presence of the narrowband waveform, an interference suppression filter at each CDMA receiver is employed to reject the narrowband interference. The problem of interference from adjacent cells is also considered. Average power control is assumed to combat the nearlfar problem , and multipath diversity, in conjunctlon with simple Inter-leaved channel coding, is considered for improving the performance of the CDMA system.

Innovative chip waveforms in microcellular DS/CDMA packet mobile radio

The impact of innovative chip waveforms on the performance of a direct sequence code-division multiple-access (DSICDMA) packet mobile radio network is investigated, assuming either Rayleigh or Nakagami-m frequency selective channels and a differential phase shift keying (DPSK) receiver with selection diversity. A constant improvement of the bit-error rate (BER) and the throughput is presented t...

Adaptive LMS Filters for Cellular CDMA Overlay Situations

This paper extends and complements previous research we have performed on the performance of nonadaptive narrowband suppression filters when used in cellular codedivision multiple-access (CDMA) overlay situations. In this paper, an adaptive least mean square (ILMS) filter is applied to a cellular CDMA overlay in order to reject narrowband interference. An accurate expression for the steady-stat...

Open-loop power control error in cellular CDMA overlay systems

Adaptive power control has widely been used in DS/CDMA systems to overcome the so-called “near-far” problem. This paper studies the adaptive open-loop power control of a cellular CDMA system, which is overlaid in the downlink by a narrowband signal. The effects of downlink power allocation schemes to power control error in the presence of narrowband interference are analyzed. In order to get a ...

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Performance of RS-Coded DS/CDMA Microcellular Systems with M-ary Orthogonal Signaling

This paper investigates the application of Reed-Solomon coding on DS/CDMA systems with M-ary orthogonal signaling for the reverse link of a microcellular environment. The performance of voice and data communications are analytically evaluated for a Rician or Rayleigh faded channel with lognormal shadowing and a two-slope path loss model. The effects of sectorization and antenna diversity are al...
